  2. Read the Scripture from Ephesians

  3. Take a moment to meditate on the Scripture.

Questions for Reflection

  1. Think of the most outlandish claims that you have heard and seen on TV. What bothered you the most about them?

  2. Have you ever purchased a product based on a TV ad only to be disappointed? What was the product? What was teh claim?

Studying the Text

  1. Where did Jesus return to? Howdid Jesus return?

  2. What happened?

  3. What did he do? How did people respond?

  4. Where did he go? What was special about the place?

  5. What day was it? What did he do?

  6. What scroll did he read from?

  7. What did the prophet say?

  8. To whom was he to preach good news?

  9. What was he proclaimed?

  10. Who was he to release?

  11. What year did the prophet claim it to be?

  12. What did Jesus do after he read?

  13. How did people respond?

  14. Then what did Jesus say?

Living the Text

  1. Have you ever felt like God was similar to those hyperbolic TV ads? Why or why not?

  2. In what way is Jesus statement like those hyperbolic TV ads? In what way is his statement different?

Closing

  1. Read the Scripture lesson again and take a moment to meditate on the passage.

  2. What is God saying to you?

  3. Thank God for his presence and ask him to apply what you have learned to your life.
